Why are .wmv files blocked ?
Solution

It has been reported that virus writers have subverted digital rights management features in Windows Media Player to spread Trojans and other malware via wmv files. License-protected movie (.wmv) files infected with the WmvDownloader-A or WmvDownloader-B Trojans have been reported.

In order to stop the threat of these trojans, we have chosen to block all wmv files by default. If it is absolutely necessary to send .wmv files, you have the option to zip the file (.zip, .rar) or upload the file to your webspace for download.
